Mama's First (Unnecessary) Freakout

My first (unnecessary) ahem...freak out happened about 6 months ago. It was right after we put

Alexis in her toddler bed, and I was always checking on her. Apparently, when I tucked her in for bed I left her light on. (For some unknown reason!) However, I didn't notice this until about midnight as I was ready for bed. Michael and I had been outside on the porch with the dogs,and forgot the baby monitor inside, and when I came in to check on her one last time I noticed the light on through her door. Terrified that I had left the front door unlocked and someone had come in and taken her, and left her light on I threw open her bedroom door and found her tucked in fast asleep, she hadn't moved! (She's such a good sleeper!)

Now I've been very cautious about turning off her light....

Sunday I woke up early and I can see down the hall to Alexis' room. Knowing I did not leave the light on the night before I saw her light on, streaming down the dark hallway. Terrified again that someone had gotten through two locks on the door, a Pomeranian, a German shepherd, the baby monitor, and us, left the light on (my robbers are never courteous apparently!),and taken my child. I ran down the hall (I've never run so fast in my life!) threw open her door and found a panicked little girl wondering why her mommy had bust into her room at an ungodly hour.

It was the sun coming through the window.....and 6:30 am.

Disney On Ice

Today was a WONDERFUL day!! We had so much fun going to see Disney on Ice in Little Rock today. We went to the 11:00 show, and had a blast. Alexis got a souvenir Flounder, and a Tinker Bell snow cone with a collector cup. At the beginning of the show all of the characters started coming out one or two at a time, and Alexis would yell out all of their names and point and clap, and yell. It was so cute, and she could hardly contain her excitement. She also loved the whole show, and was glued to it, except that Captain Hook scared her to pieces and she crawled up in my lap. That really surprised me considering they had Maleficent, Jafar, and the evil step mother from Snow White as the witch, plus lots of other more scary Disney villains. I never thought Captain Hook would scare her, but it did. We also got to see all of the princesses except for Sleeping Beauty (one of my favorites :(, and Tinker Bell was in the opening and the finale, but there wasn't a Tinker Bell segment of the show. Alexis was so sad. Halfway through the show she started yelling "Tinker Bell come back!" Here are a few pictures of our day! I will post the rest on Facebook later! Enjoy!!

An Unexpected Day...To say the least.

MY day started at 6:20. I heard Alexis crying and went to go see what was up. I picked her up, and she was super cold and wet...because she had thrown up all over her bed, her clothes, and of course her. So I stripped her bed down, and stripped her down, threw it all in the washer, and put the baby in the tub. I washed her,put her in clean clothes, and checked her temp. No fever so it must have been just a tummy bug. We got ready to go finish things up at our house in Conway, and made it out the door with Alexis and Capie at 8:30 a record. We got to Conway and got straight to work, loaded the truck and went to the dump. Then we went to eat lunch with my family @ Ryan's. We had a good lunch, and visit, and we were on our way back to the house to finish cleaning, which we got done, and loaded up to go home. We had decided to plan a picnic dinner, and stop at the dog park/kiddie park to let everyone stretch, run, and eat. Alexis and I decided to sit in the truck for dinner because the picnic tables were really grown up with weeds. We turned the truck on and it was dead,so I called Michael and he turned to key and it was still dead, and not one single person had a pair of jumper cables on them so we had to call my in-laws because they were the closest. Anyway, while we were waiting on them Alexis and I ate, ran races up and down the trail (about a million times), crawled through giant cement tunnels (even mommy), ran across bridges, stayed outside the gate and watched the dogs at the dog park, and we watched and talked to Daddy and Capie. We also played with another little girl and her mommy for a little bit. It was exhausting 3 hours of running, crawling, and jumping made me very tired. Alexis fell asleep as soon as I buckled her into her car seat. Then we went and unloaded stuff at the storage unit when we got back to White Hall. When we made it home Alexis had skinned knees and legs, bruises (those tunnels were hard on the knees!) , and was covered in dirt and sand. So I gave her another bath, changed her into pj's,remade her bed, and put her in it. Then the mommy with skinned and bruised legs and knees, covered in dirt and sand collapsed on the couch, watched American Idol and Glee, took a shower, cleaned the kitchen and dining room and collapsed in bed. What a day.....

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter, and with Alexis being almost 2 it was a lot of fun. Last year (when she was almost 1) all she was able to do was pick up some Easter eggs off of the floor that Mommy and Daddy colored,and put them in her basket. I think there were 5 eggs.

This year was much different. We decided to spend Easter with my parents, and we arrived at their house Saturday afternoon. Mom was making some mini-cupcakes, and was about to frost them. Alexis and I added the sprinkles, and the table and the applesauce Alexis was eating also got quite a few. Then after dinner we colored eggs, the first thing that happened was Alexis stuck her hand straight in the pink dye. So she had a slightly pink hand for Easter, but after that things went pretty well. Oh,before dinner we also opened our Easter cards from Mawmaw and Pawpaw, and Alexis got some dresses and shoes from them, which were precious, and she modeled each dress, and wore one of the dresses for at least an hour or so before I made her take it off for dinner.


Sunday we went to church, and afterwards there was an Easter Egg hunt for the kiddos, and Alexis got a ton of eggs, mostly filled with gum and jawbreakers (since she can't have any of that she ended up with about 5 pieces of chewy candy that she could eat) Then we went back to my parents house for lunch which was very yummy, and my brother and sister-in-law, and my grandparents came which meant more spoiling for Alexis. At the table Alexis was sitting across from my brother, Danny, and she pointed at him and started screaming " HI DANDY!" Over and over and over again, and since my bro didn't say hi back every single time she said it to him she got louder until he would say hi to her. I bet she said hi to him about 30 times in 5 minutes. It was hilarious! And every time she noticed her Uncle Danny was in the room she would scream "DANDY, HI DANDY!!!". He was very popular that day :). All in all we had a great day, and have some cute pictures which are still on our camera wherever that is. I will try to post them soon.

She Knows What She Wants

After playing outside for an hour tonight it got cold enough that we had to come inside, and after an hour and a half screaming fit earlier, and a LONG day at work, I was not above bribing my nature loving child to come inside. Here's how it went...

"Alexis, it's time to come inside."

"No"

"Come on it's too cold, do you want to watch Tink?"

"No Tink" (A first might I add)

"Do you want Nemo snacks?"

"No thanks."

"Okay, but it's time to go inside."

I went and picked her up and brought her inside.

"Mommy where's Nemo snacks?"

"Mommy where's my Tink T.B.?" (T.B. is T.V. not Tuberculosis)

"Come on Tink come on T.B."

And now I'm watching Tinker Bell because technically I did say it was okay....

Oh and we ate Nemo snacks too. Sheesh,

Gymnastics!!

We have been looking for an activity for Alexis that would be fun, and give her a little exercise and social interaction. We decided that we would try gymnastics. They let you visit a class first to see if your child is really interested or not, and our time was this afternoon. Alexis LOVED it! She had so much fun with all of the exercises, and she was pretty good at most of them too. They had this swing there that you were suppose to hold on to and drop into a pile of soft blocks, and then go down a slide. Well, Alexis didn't have a problem going down the slide, but she couldn't/didn't want to get in the slide to go down. The instructor had to help her in the slide every time, but she had a blast! She also did a forward roll (with the help of Mommy) in front of the whole class. She was so proud of herself, and she clapped for all of the other kids too. Michael and I really loved this class because the parents go through the exercises with their kids (since they are all so little) and the instructor is there to guide the parents, and help with a few of the harder exercises. So, we were both able to participate with her, instead of just getting to watch. They even have evening classes so that we can both be a part of this activity after we get off work. So here are a few pictures of her first day of gymnastics. Now since we know she is going to do this we can shop around for an adorable leotard!!
